Is your cab driver reading the manual and driving

2023 Nov 08

Peter Drucker never said:

Culture eats strategy for breakfast.

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

The best way to predict the future is to create it.

What happens to the generations of employees, leaders and organizations who have believed in it and followed it like the manual. Can the past be undone.

Think for yourself. What does your experience tell you. What is the nuanced truth in your context.

The rest can continue to believe the conventional wisdom: strategy is at mercy of strong and weak culture, brand must be valued and improved and if we don’t influence the future, we don’t have one. Seems they are in majority which is why Fortune 500 companies have a declining lifespan.

And if you find your cab driver is reading a bestseller manual on how to drive, suggest you open the cab door and jump off. Don’t think.
