Every label has a hidden cost

2023 Oct 26

Here is one way to explain. Are you doing something because it is your passion or because you see it as a business. To the listener, the former sounds like the bored housewife who starts a bakery class and the latter sounds like Elon Musk starting a new venture. The imagery is automatic. Simple neat boxes, easy on mind.

What happens when the same housewife launches a national brand and the businessman winds down the business. The brain reshuffles the deck of cards and comes up with a new label to anchor the unknown. The housewife has strong business acumen, luck favours the brave; and the businessman had to fail, needs to be networked.

Labels:

– Blunt intellect, stop you from exploring and discerning

– Like airline baggage stickers, stay stuck

You pay a price for every label you acquire. Lost opportunities, creative expression, and the ability to connect.

Drop the labels that no longer serve you. Be smart.
