Growth mindset is for amateurs, Professionals see things as they are

Ganesha and Kartikeya, sons of Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati, once had a race. They had to take three rounds of the world, the first to complete would be the winner. Ganesha travelled on a mouse while Kartikeya had a peacock. Kartikeya gets on his peacock and rushes off in speed, confident of winning the race. On his return, Kartikeya is surprised to see Ganesha there before him and being congratulated on winning. Ganesha had decided to take the three rounds of his parents instead of the Earth because they meant the world to him!

Growth mindset is like a hammer with every situation looking like a nail.

Seeing things as they are is less occupied with outcomes, success, desire, challenges, and persistence and is more about first understanding things, as clearly as possible.

Sometimes you need to reverse.
Sometimes you let time sort out things.
Sometimes you need to be simply aware.
Sometimes you give it your best – have a growth mindset.
Sometimes you need to see things with a fresh pair of eyes.

If Ganesha was bitten by growth mindset, he would be doing what we all do – huffing and puffing in the smartest way, to the finish line. Luckily, Ganesha, the personification of wisdom is always present in us, to show a wiser way.

The way of professionals is to first see things as they are.
